Duke Blue Planet - 2024-25 Season

My favorite part of the video was when Kon missed a three in practice (apparently) and said "gol darn it".

I hope Maliq continues to try to shoot threes. We kept hearing about Ryan Young shooting threes in last year's preseason, but I don't remember him taking any in games.
Young was 0-1 last year

KK does look a bit taller than both Caleb and Scheyer, both listed at 6'5, but not much. Maybe an 1/8 of a cinder block.

As he legend goes, headed out for the final play of the 2010 Championship game, K told the guys, "Just be you, you is enough!"

In the footage of the on-court celebration after that title win over Butler, there was a shot of Scheyer celebrating with Kyle Singler and he's saying to him, "Just be you, you is enough". One of the regular DBR posters has this saying in their signature, I can't remember who right now.

I have noticed, in this video and elsewhere, that Jon has developed, "Let's be us!" as an oft-repeated mantra. When I hear him say it, I am reminded of that story from 2010 and it makes me smile.

I think I will add this as my signature as well. There is no better message to send or receive on DBR.

What about Coach K's use of "Eight is enough" from the 2015 championship season? I can't remember if he was quoting Dick Vitale or Dick Van Patten.

"They showed such grit tonight," said coach Mike Krzyzewski, whose five titles put him alone in second place on the all-time list behind John Wooden. "Our bench was spectacular, and like we said about two months ago, eight is enough. Eight is enough."

To me, eight is enough does not carry the impact of the other.

Great stuff. And watching Bilas close out the video talking about Duke basketball, I'd propose that every time someone on the "TV announcers" thread starts kvetching about Bilas and his lack of loyalty to the Duke program, they should be forced to do a remedial reviewing of this video from 19:38 to the end.
I think it took Jay awhile to realize that constant criticism ( the refs, the NCAA) and n overcompensation for neutrality was a pretty big turn off to most fans. I have to say that he’s grown on me this year.

Jay has changed for the better. His arrogance is not on full display anymore and now that NCAA is a dead horse he doesn't continually berate the organization.

And the UNCheat scandal is in the rear view mirror and the scholar athlete no longer an honest term at many schools.
