Duke Blue Planet - 2024-25 Season

Great video. Looks like Scheyer is setting the tone from day 1, especially for the freshmen who are all new to this. He wants them to talk constantly and hold each other accountable. From the looks of it we're going to apply a lot of pressure on the ball and be active defensively, which of course makes sense when you have a 7'2 eraser plus two 6'9 defensive beasts behind you. Sion feels like a Justise Winslow type of defender who can make plays all over the court.
Agree with all this, but Kon is only 6'6 or 6'7.

I was of course referring to Flagg and Brown, but I agree that it is becoming increasingly less likely that we see those two on the court together with Maluach.

No matter what the lineup we'll have guys protecting the rim, which will make our guards so much more effective at pressuring the ball as compared to last year.

Episode 5

The first 5 minutes of this episode are pretty incredible. CFos is mic'ed up at a practice, and all you hear is his voice, and it is literally exhausting to witness how much these guys are expected to talk during practice. K always said that a guy who talks is thinking about the team and not about himself. I agree that is true. But, watching this video is also rings true that doing this much talking is a fitness challenge. What a cool idea for the start of this video, kudos to the Blue Planet team.

Also, Sion James is a keeper.

I'm starting to think that Sion is a deep fake. He's just a little too smart, too nice, too thoughtful and too giving. But then to be that talented at basketball? But what really doesn't make sense is how ripped he is. That's video game ripped. No actual person is built like that. We need an investigation.

No actual person except Nate James!

Jason Evans alert at 20:00 - but Jason, why aren’t you dribbling a ball?!?
Travelling!

After you have dribbled for a half mile or so, you kinda lose your enthusiasm for it ;)

Seemed like Maliq was afraid to shoot and Jon had to work to give him the confidence to take them. His teammates did the same. Love the communication and positive energy from everyone.

Maliq looking good. Moves well, quick hands, hitting the 3s.

He's not the first guy we're talking about, but he is for real.

Kon reminds me of Opie. Gol darn it.
My favorite part of the video was when Kon missed a three in practice (apparently) and said "gol darn it".

I hope Maliq continues to try to shoot threes. We kept hearing about Ryan Young shooting threes in last year's preseason, but I don't remember him taking any in games.
