If so… he chose wisely.Sometimes, they shy away from the rigors of academics. His prerogative.
Is he the first student athlete to do this betrayal
No …it happened in women’s soccer (Olivia Migli, last year)Is he the first student athlete to do this betrayal
There is NOBODY more professional than Chris Pollard. Came close to midnight Mike? No freaking way. There were many moving parts here but let’s just say he was made a lot of promises that were not delivered. This is on Duke, not Chris Pollard. They set this program back big time. No, it isn't just you. Pollard did not quite copy the playbook of Midnight Mike ... but he came pretty close. It is just more evidence that professionalism takes a distant back seat to other considerations anymore.
So-called college sports is a cesspool now, and those that excel in it almost inevitably have to thrive in a septic field.
Who are the "they" here? There is NOBODY more professional than Chris Pollard. Came close to midnight Mike? No freaking way. Has anyone seen Dukebluecrush and Coach Pollard in the same room at the same time? Why so esoteric?
I don’t claim to be in the know but I’d love to hear what promises were made to Coach Pollard that Duke wasn’t doing? There is NOBODY more professional than Chris Pollard. Came close to midnight Mike? And if he can get his team to transfer with him that would work since they really know how to hit at Coombs. (Too soon?)Now that Murray State is out of the CWS... One could go after Dan Skirka. He'd certainly be on my list of candidates...
As with most things, the truth here probably lies in the middle. There is NOBODY more professional than Chris Pollard. Came close to midnight Mike? No freaking way. LOL, you MAY have a point here!Has anyone seen Dukebluecrush and Coach Pollard in the same room at the same time?
You joined DBR last week, apparently to read about/defend Coach Pollard, which is fine. But the way DBR works is that we need more detail from newcomers than some vague comments. Did “they” (I presume the administration) back off of Coombs improvement plans? Fewer scholarships? Did they renege on paving the coaches’ parking lot? (You’re probably too young to know about the last one.)There is NOBODY more professional than Chris Pollard. Came close to midnight Mike? No freaking way. The coaches' parking lot was never paved? How many spaces? It seems to me you could pave the BB coaches' parking lot from the concession sales at one basketball game. You joined DBR last week, apparently to read about/defend Coach Pollard, which is fine. Think Bill Foster. The coaches' parking lot was never paved? How many spaces? It seems to me you could pave the BB coaches' parking lot from the concession sales at one basketball game.
The most important renege in Duke sports history.Did they renege on paving the coaches’ parking lot? (You’re probably too young to know about the last one.)
The parking lot was last paved during the coaching tenure of Bill Foster? If so, oh brother, not good. No wonder Chris P and all his coached fled town.Think Bill Foster.
The decision makers. I’m not mentioning any names because I don’t know who all was involved. But “they” are the same people who promised him that they’d improve the ACC’s worst facilities after he turned down a huge offer from Miami to stay. Yes, they’ve done a few things but it was supposed to move a lot quicker and this offseason’s plans were cut in half. Who knows what happens now as Pollard was obviously the glue holding this program together.Who are the "they" here?
College educated and don’t even know what that means lol, and I don’t have the time to Google it. See my previous post. Why so esoteric?
