Did you see that?!?!

vermont man gets stuck in the mud along the Winooski River and has to be extricated by rescue personnel.

Ummm, was there something to see here?

I think budwom was describing his own recent predicament. But there's no reason to call yourself a stick in the mud, as you can be quite progressive!

There was definitely something to see here. It was the top story on WPTZ and WCAX, the NBC and CBS affiliates. Action news!

Just out of curiosity, how old do you have to be to get the simple designation 'elderly' by the local news?

In those videos, the NBC anchor looked to be about 17 years old, and the CBS anchor was probably in her early 20s. "Elderly" covers a wide range, probably starting around 30.

You're only as old as you feel, but those youngsters made me feel old.

The weekend anchors here have good intentions but are really quite bad, and alarmingly not good at reading teleprompters. Can't get Charles Kuralt for eleven bucks an hour, plus he's dead, and if he weren't he'd probably be with his second family on the weekend.
The NBC young man is a recent Appy State grad by the way.

As for the "elderly" designation, this has been a topic of conversation lately..."elderly" used to be them, not me.
Used to be age 65 was "elderly"....now apparently the unofficial designation is closer to 80. Whatever. I am imperiled.
The mud geezer did manage to get himself 500 yards downstream, so he can't be entirely decrepit.

It’s no fun referring to a person as ‘old’ and then realizing they are your age.

“But they look old - surely I don’t look like that!”

Note: It is important to stay away from pictures of yourself after that statement.

UNC frat event heavily promoted by WRAL didn’t end up going too great.

Our local weekend anchors are HORRIBLE! Except for one Duke grad, he's actually pretty good, but he only subs occasionally. The others are either WAY too emotional about the news or they say UH before every sentence. Really annoying. I don't watch much news on the weekend.

It would be great to see Cameron and Cayden in a Duke uniform for a bunch of reasons. Among them is having Carlos around every home game. He’s a fun guy.
