Cooper Flagg to enter NBA Draft

No surprise there. Would have been an utterly shocking event in the one-and-done era for the consensus #1 pick to turn down the NBA for another year.

It was a lot of fun getting to watch him this year. Probably should have been a national championship team, but the tournament is a fluky thing sometimes. But he represented us well, and is no doubt headed for big things at the next level. He will be missed for sure.

I know this is pretty much delving into further delusion... but I do anticipate some speculation on this board if the Hornets end up winning the lottery. That place is an NBA outpost right now.

I think the most amazing thing about Cooper is that he actually exceeded all of the hype. That rarely happens. I'd say Lebron is the most similar example of the reality exceeding the nearly impossible to achieve hype coming out of high school.

I expected an unselfish animalistic competitor and defender whose offense was decent but based largely on his effort and athleticism. I didn't expect what an incredible playmaker he would be, nor that his shooting would be as good as it was, nor how prenaturally smart he was on the court.

Thanks for the ride, kid!

It would be interesting to pair him with LaMelo Ball and Mark Williams - if either could stay healthy.
