Here ya go guys. Someone had to do it.
And we also want him healthy for when he's back next seasonThere is NO reason for Flagg to play again in the ACC Tournament. Sit him and get healthy for the NCAAT. Besides, we can win the ACCT without Flagg. Yes, we are that good. And if we lose, so what.
Sign me up for sitting until Raleigh, and if anyone thinks it's going to remotely affect our seeding the brackets were likely settled on Sunday. There is NO reason for Flagg to play again in the ACC Tournament. I think we would need him back for the 2nd round game.I think we can most probably win the first couple of rounds of the ncaa without Coop. That would give him at least two weeks to recover, get back in time for the sweet sixteen. I’m still thinking this team can get # 6. Let’s go get it Duke!
Tend to agree with this. But if wants to play (and Mom approves) who stops him? There is NO reason for Flagg to play again in the ACC Tournament. Sit him and get healthy for the NCAAT. Besides, we can win the ACCT without Flagg. Yes, we are that good. And if we lose, so what.
Coach Scheyer. Time for some tough love.Tend to agree with this. But if wants to play (and Mom approves) who stops him?

Yeah, there is also no reason for him not to play if he feels he can go and is medically cleared.Tend to agree with this. But if wants to play (and Mom approves) who stops him?
And that’s basically what scheyer saidCoach Scheyer. Time for some tough love.
I disagree. Even if he is medically cleared, that ankle will be tender making re-injury a real gamble. Sit him. To be clear, I’m not saying you are wrong and I’m right. I’m only saying I don’t want Flagg to play.Yeah, there is also no reason for him not to play if he feels he can go and is medically cleared.
He won’t be medically cleared. He’s going to feel much worse when he wakes up tomorrow morning than he does right now.Tend to agree with this. But if wants to play (and Mom approves) who stops him?
I understand the sentiment that the NCAA Tourney is more important, and that Duke shouldn't risk aggravating/prolonging Flagg's injury to an extent that it might diminish the team's prospects for success in the weeks ahead. But I think that most longtime Duke fans would disagree with the notion that the ACC Tournament is not that important, and would beg to differ with the idea that losing to UNC is not worth caring about. In this case, losing to UNC would almost certainly assure them an invitation to the NCAA Tournament, and would enable them to play for the ACC Championship. Those are consequences that I suspect many who profess not to care today would be painfully lamenting tomorrow night and thereafter. If this was a tournament game, he plays, but honestly the ACCT is just not that important, plus we've won it a bunch of times and one more isn't going to do much for us.
IF he's anything less than 100% then don't play him, don't care if we lose even if it's UNC, great chance for the other guys who don't get as much PT to get some seasoning for the real thing.
As you know well, I am the last person who wants to lose to Carolina and not be able to compete to win another ACC Championship but I am trying to focus on the bigger picture. Those are consequences that I suspect many who profess not to care today would be painfully lamenting tomorrow night and thereafter.
