Caleb Foster announced on Brotherhood Podcast Episode 53 that he is returning to Duke for his junior year.

Caleb Foster: "As I mentioned before on a previous podcast that, growing up, it's always been a dream of mine chasing championships here at Duke, that has not changed at all. And I'm excited now that I'll be coming back for my junior year to keep going and keep pursuing to get that national championship number six."

I will be glad to have him back, especially in this day and age of instant gratification. He seems like a great young man and representative of the school. I’m very curious how the back court shakes out.

This is great! Seems like a really high-quality individual and a great representative of the University and Brotherhood. Great for program continuity. I also think he has another gear on the floor that he will find next year. Good defender.

Glad to see Caleb returning to Duke. I was proud of Caleb and how he put his head down and worked to improve his game. I hope he's continuing to do that this off season. I thought he and Isaiah really improved their defense. Work on those point-guard skills young man. You will be needed this coming season.

GoDuke!

That's great news! I'm looking forward to seeing Caleb with a healthy offseason to prepare.

Love that he is back he showed flashes and is actually really great at getting to the basket and defending. He needs to shoot about 1,000 3's per day from now until season hopefully he can get back to that 40% 3 clip.

are you suggesting tha CJS forces players to leave? Are you suggesting that CJS threatens players that their scholarship will be revoked? Exactly how is it that players leave not by choice?
There’s a gray area between “coach says get outta here” and both sides understanding that parting ways is the right move. This can be communicated myriad ways. Coach is HONEST, always, it’s the word you hear over and over again from his players. That honesty might sound like “hey Jeremy, you’re not playing PG next year.”

Or it might be “Isaiah, we can’t match a $3MM offer from NC State.” Or “Caleb, I’m going to recruit additional ball handlers for next year to help our team out, but you are always going to have a shot at starting.”

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to be a player and feel like it’s not your choice to leave, but the constellation of other factors are forcing your hand. No one is saying they’re a victim of a cutthroat coach. Your line of questioning is a little uncharitable, imo.
