Buh bye! Mack Brown out at UNC, Bill Belichick in

I will howl if he Lane Kiffins Carolina
Yea, seems like, maybe, Bill B panicked when he decided to take the Carolina job. Probably figured there would be no NFL HC jobs offered to him but he probably should have waited until the NFL season ended and various teams fired their coaches. I still can not understand why, at his age and with his success in the pros, he would step down to the Carolina job. I mean it is not Alabama or Michigan and he can't be desperate for money.

If he didn't make a few phone calls to NFL people, particularly to Brady, before taking the UNC job, then he is even dumber than he looks.

But at the time, I guess blue cup happy hour at He's Not Here with a night cap at Time Out was irresistible for him and his sweetie.

So if I understand this, he comes out of pocket with $1mm if he leaves, whether now or on June 1. But if he leaves before June 1 he also doesn’t get paid his $10mm. That doesn’t seem like a problem if he takes an NFL job as the NFL team will cover his salary during that time. If he waits until June 1 to take another job, he gets his $10mm salary (less his $1mm buy out), but his start date (and pay period) for his NFL job would slide back. So I think he could decide anytime (not to mention that an NFL team is likely to compensate him any “losses” he incurs by leaving Carolina.)

Yup. That's a long time during which BB could have a "gentleman's" agreement with a team and leave the poor Tar Heels swinging in the wind come summer time.

I'm torn whether I want to see Belichick screw Unc. But it doesn't seem to matter, the Las Vegas team denies talking to him about the job and Belichick's representatives are denying that he's talking to the NFL. They say he doesn't like the direction the NFL has taken. As if college is a bed of roses.

He’s denied a lot of things over his career that turned out to be true. Just sayin’.

This comment cracked me up, particularly since I was asked last night at around midnight by my son, who is home from college in Boston and wasn’t feeling well, to go to Time Out and get him a chicken ‘n’ cheddar biscuit, Mac and cheese, and mixed vegetables. I got a biscuit for myself, too! 😉

Enjoy the Timeout and hope he feels better. My son and I are both not feeling great (and Mrs. CNC is out of town) so I went over to Zabar's here in NYC for some matzah ball soup - Jewish penicillin.

Not sure if this is the right place for it but I heard on the radio that Gruden is being considered for some NFL jobs. Interesting.
