Blue Devils in the NBA 2024-2025

Here's highlights from Zion's game against the Lakers. His touch around the rim reminds me of Kyrie's:

If he's currently 264, I believe that's close to his playing weight at Duke and would be a pretty dramatic weight loss in the past year. Perhaps the loss of guaranteed money has finally motivated him. If so I'll be pulling for him hard to stay healthy.
I will be pulling for him to stay healthy in any regard. I love Zion.

GoDuke!

Zion at 100% is a beautiful thing to behold

I still love watching Zion play. I know the NBA was all about LBJ's cumulative points last night but Zion put on a show. Poor Jaxson Hayes....I'd say that Zion was "finishing through contact" but truth is he was just "finishing thru Jaxson". He he abused LBJ while he was at it. I loved that when LBJ scored his milestone points, they didn't even get the platitudes out of their mouth before Zion dunked on the other end.

Stay healthy big fella...The Brotherhood still loves to watch you play!

Filipowski off to a great start against Philadelphia - 4/4 2/2 1/1 shooting for 11 points in under six minutes to start the game!

Since the all star break (9 games) Kyle is averaging 15.2 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 2.9 APG, and shooting 52.8% (!) from three on 4 attempts a game. He's becoming a really nice piece forn Utah.
I was watching the Jazz broadcast (with Thurl Bailey on color!) and their whole pregame bit was about Flip and how well he’s playing. They specifically pointed out that he’s handling physical play a lot better, and he showed that against Drummond. He’s also rebuilt his 3pt shot and become much more reliable from there.

Wow, this is great news! I had no idea. Filipowski had seemed to be the forgotten great Duke player.

Very happy to see him doing well in the big leagues. Keep it up, Kyle. 👍

Yeah I watched the game last night and Flip looks good. He still tends to pick up bad fouls but also seems a bit targeted just like at Duke.

Wendell Moore has actually been a) somewhat productive and b) somewhat valued by CHO. Though it is a terrible team, they're playing him, and in fact he's played meaningful minutes in back to back 3pt wins. It's not a huge evolution, but he has been a deep bench reserve for his whole career, rarely playing a) at all or b) in close games.
When Tre Jones was traded to CHI there were some who said that he would essentially get lost amongst all the other guards. Well, now he's starting and playing quite well. Last night he scored 8 (on 4-12 shooting, not great) but dished out 8 assists vs just 1 turn in the win over IND. Over his last 5 games he's averaging just north of 10 ppg, 6 assists, and just over 31 mpg.

I'm not sure if I am who you are talking about, but I absolutely expected Tre to be the odd man out in Chicago's guard rotation. With Josh Giddey, Coby White, Lonzo Ball, Ayo Dosunmu, and Kevin Huerter, I figured there was going to be very little chance for Tre to find meaningful minutes. I am beyond thrilled to be proven wrong, even if part of the reason is injuries to Donsunmu and Ball.

I wonder what Chicago is thinking about Tre moving forward. He is an unrestricted free agent this summer and all the guys I listed above are under contract for 25-26 (plus PG Javon Carter, who has a $6.5 mil player option that I bet he exercises). Will Chicago try to bring Tre back?

Worth noting that Tyus will also be a free agent this summer... fairly likely the brothers could find themselves competing for a contract among teams who have room for a pass-first, low turnover PG.
