Blue Devils in the NBA 2024-2025

Lively was terrific tonight. 15 PT 11 REB 6 AST. Along with Luka and Klay he was one of the top 3 on the court for the Mavs.
Yes, and coming off the bench in 28 minutes. He is all over the court making plays. Very fun to watch.

With Klay Thompson now this Mavs team is going to be very tough to beat. Kyrie, Luka, Klay. That's a lot of firepower.

Hoping Klay gets his previous form and consistency back. He was pretty bad in preseason.

Ditto that on Lively, who has become one of my favorite players in the entire league to watch.

He did get straight-up stuffed by Wemby on a shot in the lane, though. Wemby is absurd.

From a selfish point of view, it's a pity we're in an era in which Lively doesn't play at least one more year at Duke. But it's safe to say he's on the right track now -- already well above average among NBA starters and potentially All-Star level before long.

And certainly a player any team in the league would love to have, especially if they have a couple of good scoring options already and just need that missing piece.

Right after that play, he caught up to a Spurs guard and poked away the ball, causing a turnover. It was a great recovery after getting erased, and the epitome of a “next play” mentality.

So the only game in which a Duke player participated yesterday in which the Duke player's team lost was also the only game in which the Duke player played less than 14 minutes.

Coincidence?
First, Lebron couldn’t win a ring without a Dukie. Now everyone is having trouble winning games with out one!

Having no home team, my NBA allegiances shift over time. The Celtics have had my heart in the East since Jayson went there. The Mavs started to win me over last year with both Kyrie and D. Live. Now that they got an interesting storyline with Klay being added to an already potent mix, I’m all in on pulling for the Mavs out of the West.

Brandon Ingram hit a step-back go-ahead jumper, and Zion Williamson (playing limited minutes for the game) decisively blocked the final shot attempt, to secure a Pelicans' win over the Trail Blazers.

SkyB and I have a Strawberry Rhubarb pie bet.

I was definitely winning the bet until SkyB started stomping around a particular Duke basketball player. I think arbitration may be in order. Here is a picture of SkyB discussing the incident with campus security.

I'm not ready to call shenanigans, but I'm getting close.
What is that thing about big feet?
