Man those are pretty funny.

CW is the only outlet that I don't get. My local area has the oddity of having two local entities that control all the networks. One has NBC and ABC both and the other has Fox, CBS, and the CW. The second one multiplexes some CW content into their Fox and CBS feeds that DirecTV carries, but not the ACC games.

Other news from the SEC

Mississippi coach Lane Kiffin says Wake Forest violated "an unwritten rule" by buying its way out of next year's matchup, leaving the Rebels in search of another major-conference opponent.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- In what is believed to be the first arrangement of its kind, Tennessee fans for all sports will be charged a 10% "talent fee" on tickets to help pay athletes as part of the new revenue-sharing plan set to begin in 2025.

The university shared the news with football season-ticket holders via email Tuesday, which included an impassioned four-minute video of athletic director Danny White telling fans the talent fee and other strategies were "part of an extensive plan to continue our dominance in college athletics and build something like never seen before."

The Cal NIL collective did a bit of guerilla marketing in traditional ACC country by introducing themselves via billboard to Charlotte, Atlanta, and Tallahassee.

Make that Calahassee. Based on the restaurant pictured below, this billboard is located at the corner of Ocala and W Tennessee/Highway 90, about a city block northwest of FSU's football stadium.

The Golden Bears (3-0) travel east to face the Seminoles (0-3), and it might just be the low-key ACC game of the week.

I was gonna say, it seems like FSU ought to orient themselves to the ACC as well.

Another day, another billboard in Calahassee. This one is even closer to Stadium Drive.

There's something very funny about placing the sentiment "Thank y'all for the invitation" right next to a school that was against the invitation, and is actively trying to leave the conference. As I understand it, the Charlotte billboard was installed in July before ACC media days, and two billboards in Atlanta (along Interstates 75/85 in both directions, near the Georgia Tech campus) were in place when the season started, and in time to get a reaction from the city's many Auburn grads.

For their part, SMU has also infiltrated Atlanta, advertising on public transportation:

Neither California nor SMU plays Georgia Tech this season. No word yet from Stanford.

The Cal twitter stuff is really clever. They are handing out participation trophies to FSU this week to make them feel better. Maybe somebody more computer literate can link some of the more clever ones. We may end up appreciating having Cal and Stanford in the conference.

My friend who is a Syracuse alum noted that the phrase "Syracuse is hosting Stanford in an ACC game on Friday night at the JMA Wireless Dome" would have made all of our heads explode for countless reasons in the not-too-distant past.
