From ESPN's College GameDay. Not sure what's going here, other than some Disney corporate synergy.

And when I think of ACC football, I think about SMU's debut on the road in Nevada.

Maybe someone can explain to me the iconography of sitting on a mountainside, looking at a lit stadium at night far in the distance, beside your dog next to a small neon sign of Reno.

The 2024 College Football Season is underway!

Wet field, big plays. This is Irish football! (If the ACC returns to Dublin every year, they won't need Notre Dame.)

Maybe someone can explain to me the iconography of sitting on a mountainside, looking at a lit stadium at night far in the distance, beside your dog next to a small neon sign of Reno.

I assume the dog is a wolf, representing the Nevada Wolf Pack? Other than that, I can't help you.

The stadium looks full, so the SMU player is watching the game as it happens, and is so far away that the game will be over before he can get there. Meanwhile, the Nevada guys sent a wolf, so all their players are available. Advantage Nevada?

Dublin’s pretty flat, and the only local mountains (Wicklows) are most famous for providing pure water for the Guinness Brewery at St. James’ Gate.

Which is nice.

Isn’t the head referee the fool who cost us the Halloween game? Rooting for GaTech to win. If FSU can’t beat GaTech do they really want to go to the SEC where they would probably finish mid pack at best and NEVER taste a college playoff game again?

The mountains are Tahoe-adjacent in the SMU-Nevada image. (I don’t get it either.) And you know full well that the Wicklow “Mountains” are cute little hills.

FSU defensive players with huge blunder by not falling on fumbled ball. Trying to pick it up and run it rarely works. Only GT player around, big lineman, recovers instead and now Tech is going in for a 4th quarter lead.
