2026 MLB Season

There is another thread, just FYI.
My DBR search abilities are obviously subpar. I tried searching on thread names with 'MLB' and could not find it. I'm sure that was due to my lack of ability. But I am confused ... I could have sworn I gave my thread the title that this one has, so I don't know what the heck happened.

No sweat, it happens!

That's a true, loyal fan to catch as many Rockies games as you can.
I'll grant you, there are many games I can't stomach watching to the end. And being well east of Denver now, many of their games go on way past my normal bedtime. But I do not understand the attitude that many sports fans seem to have that they can only be fans of winning teams. I am a Rockies fan because I transferred to Denver not long after the start of the franchise and got caught up in the "Blake Street Bombers" fandom of the time, and lean years caused by the class structure of MLB will not affect that.

OK, mods, if anybody is watching, I need some help here. When I go to DBR Home -> Forums -> Off Topic, I am not seeing this thread listed on the first page as a recent thread; it is nowhere on the page. When I back up one level to the Forums page, I see it identified as the most recent thread posted, so I know that it's on the OT forum ... but I just do not see it listed on the thread list page. The only way I am able to find it is from that Forums page or by doing a search on my postings. What the heck is going on? I'm on Win 11 using Chrome browser.

Ah, I think I see the problem. I will give you the same advice I give everyone with similar problems,
or with problems like:
update issues
browser issues,
email issues,
bad breath,
sleep problems
hair loss.

Get a Mac!!

You are welcome. :)

Yeah, camion, no. I tested Macs way back when, have no desire to go back. Not that I'm an Msoft bigot, by any means; Window ain't a whole lot better, and I'm sure in many ways is worse. But I'm too set in my ways to change now. (Fair disclosure: I was at IBM when OS/2 came out, and I am still sore that IBM was too incompetent to promote it; it was far far superior to Windows).

And one other symptom, which I cannot believe is platform-related. I still do not see the "2026 MLB Season" thread when I do a thread title search for "MLB". I see "2026 MLB Hot Stove", "2025 MLB Season", etc, but not this thread. I feel somewhat vindicated now, in that I do not think it was an incompetent search that led me to try to create this thread in the first place. I think I'll put a pointer to this on LTE, I think that might be better followed by the admin team.

Edit: I think I just found out how to report something to the admin team; I'll pursue that approach. Sorry for the topic digression here.

Did you perhaps block/ignore the thread starter, FosterCoachK82, intentionally or accidentally?

Going back to last season, Shohei Ohtani currently has the longest active streak in MLB of innings pitched without allowing an earned run (28 2/3 innings).

He also currently has the longest active on-base streak in MLB (43 games).

He’s good at baseball.

After the last two years he had, something I didn’t think I’d read this season or see very often the rest of his career: Jordan Walker being tied for the MLB lead in home runs. He has hit 6 home runs in 14 games this season. He hit 6 home runs in 2025 (111 games, 363 bats) and 5 home runs in 2024 (51 games, 164 at bats). His highest home run total came in 2023 when he was 20/21 years old when he hit 16 home runs in 117 games and 420 at bats. He’s still just 23 and turns 24 next month. He needed a breakout year (former first round draft pick in 2020 - 21st overall) as it appeared he may have been running out of runway in St. Louis and it looks like he may have one if he keeps this pace up.

The best record in MLB continues to be held by *checks notes* the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This model and product MLB is peddling out is is getting difficult to watch for me and I would venture to guess for many fans.

If this holds up and especially if the Dodgers win another World Series this year, I see not much way to avoid a lockout in MLB if some serious modifications are not made to the MLB collective bargaining agreement before it expires on December 1, 2026. It needs to be first and foremost primarily focused on a stricter salary cap or Competitive Balance Tax for high spending teams such as the Dodgers to manage competitive balance and financial disparity between teams.
