2026 Men's Basketball Recruiting

Committed to Duke

Bryson Howard (6-5 SF, RSCI #12): committed 10/21/2025
Maxime Meyer (7-1 C, 247 Sports #94, On3/Rivals #75): committed 10/30/2025
Cameron Williams (6-11 PF, RSCI #4): committed 11/14/2025

All three players are now signed, according to GoDuke:

Currently ranked as the fourth-best recruiting class in the country through the early signing period, according to 247Sports, Scheyer has signed a top-three class in each of his 12 seasons on the Duke coaching staff with seven No. 1 classes during that stretch, including in 2022, 2024 and 2025. This represents the third straight recruiting cycle in which Scheyer has secured a top-three prospect.

Probably not, as it’s way too early to know what Duke’s backcourt will look like next year IMO. So it’s hard to envision a guy of his pedigree committing when he could be 4th in the pecking order of ball handlers.
It depends how good he really is, and more importantly, how good he thinks he is. He may believe that he's good enough to earn big minutes regardless of who else is on the roster. And he might be right.

What's interesting about Rippey is that he's been moving up the rankings quickly, and there's now a meaningful discrepancy among the rankings: he's been in the top 10-20 range, but now he's as high as 5. If he's that good, he won't be worried about the rest of the roster (except whether Duke's good enough to win a lot of games).

I am hoping so, however I feel like there will need to be some departures for he and Jordan Smith Jr to sign
Maybe he wants the spot before Smith grabs it? Remember what K told Kyrie? IDK but I think Rippey is that good. I think he’s given the keys from day 1 no matter who is there. JMO

Any real traction on Princetons Caden Pierce?

Noise on twitter said he could be a second semester transfer?
I just saw something similar. Duke, UConn, Purdue. Not sure how that works? If he did that then he has one semester left? Or would he practice this spring and then play next year? Scott gives us an inside track.

I dunno how it works either...
I wasn't sure this if this was somewhat a valid option, or just more internet noise and rumor.

I was hoping someone more in the loop might comment to help connect some dots since this is at least being discussed publicly on the socials now.

It certainly would add a whole new wrinkle for a seasoned competent Post guy to be added to the 2nd half of the season.

He’s listed at 6’6 or 6’7. Barring injury, how much would a post guy at that height play on this year’s Duke team?

Ugh, a midseason transfer. Just as we all expected would start to occur.

He's a 3-year starter listed at 6'6" 205, averaging 11/7/3 in 32 mins, down from 16.6/9/3 last year. A career 32% from 3PT. For a close-to-home comparison, Jack Scott averaged 2/2/1 in 10 mins last year at Princeton. So Pierce would seem to be significantly better than Scott; how that translates is anyone's guess.

It's hard to see the team fit here. He's undersized for a PF, and his tearsheet doesn't scream athletic wing so it's hard to see him displacing either Dame or Nik. Feels like he'd be a modest insurance policy.

Fast forwarding to the offseason, I'm not sure why picking up Pierce now would be better than just about anyone of high-major quality that we can find after the season.

I'm guessing this is baseless internet drivel.

Even if it wasn't, for all the reasons above, I'm out.
