2025 Men's Basketball Recruiting

I doubt he wants to battle with another top 20 freshman pg.
For me, personally... this is sad :(

Sion, on the other hand, told Scheyer that he was ready to show that he deserved playing time and would commit to Duke if he gets that playing time by earning it.

Top 25-ish PG Acaden Lewis has decommitted from Kentucky, presumably after being recruited over by Mark Pope in the portal.

Before committing to UK, Lewis made visits to Duke, UNC, Michigan and UConn and has a Duke tie-in through @blazindw if I recall from the Pod. I would not be surprised to see the Cheats make a strong push here. Michigan seems to be set with Cadeau and UConn has a crowded backcourt. Of course, it's entirely possible any other team got involved with a strong a** offer, too.

I know nothing about where Acaden's destination is going to be. I will say the other finalists in his recruiting outside of Kentucky - Duke, UNC, UConn - all have recruited point guards in the class. UConn and UNC have also brought in guards via the portal, which would create a further logjam if he went to either school.

Acaden Lewis had Us, Uconn and Kentucky in his top 3 any chance we reach back out? I found his dad on twitter hes very pro Duke comments on a lot of Duke stuff.

The Acaden I know doesn't shy away from any competition and was ready to compete wherever he ended up. I don't think that has anything to do with his decommitment.
You would know better than I, but didn’t he miss most of his senior season of high school with an injury? He wasn’t dressed in either game my kids school played against Sidwell.

Or they portalize a really good one. A different world these days.

I don't understand anyone making sweeping statements about Duke or anyone else regarding next season. I'm not anywhere near confident of what general rules from previous off-seasons apply, other than "expect players to leave, be pleasantly surprised if they return."

Beyond that, it's very difficult to find trends with so few data points and so much upheaval.

On the Who Stays/Goes thread, DevilHorse posted a reminder about tomorrow evening’s Nike Hoop Summit. Here are some details about both Women’s and Men’s game.

He did. He had an ankle injury that he picked up in early December that kept him out most of the rest of the year. He's back healthy and playing again. He's currently slated to be in the Jordan Brand Classic here in DC next Friday.

Was hoping for an announcement one way or another from Ament today. I suspect, if he hasn't yet committed, we are at the "take it or leave it, where do you want to play" moment in the recruitment. Because of the playing time and money involved, we likely have other dominoes teetering, waiting on this one to fall. Time to fish or cut bait, as they say somewhere...

no, no, no. They wait with patience.
