I hate to bring it up, but the longest Diaz has coached anywhere has been five years at Miami. Even then, the longest he's held any single job as a coach has been three years (he was DC at Miami before becoming HC). Like Elko before him, Diaz has been a job jumper.
Not that I blame him or anyone for getting the best gig the market supports, but I sure don't have any optimism about keeping him around. If someone throws a truckload of money at him, I won't be one bit surprised if he takes it and runs. I hope he stays right here. I think there are good reasons for him to do that. But I just can't be optimistic about it.
It does mean that each year he stays, I'll be freshly appreciative.
