2025 All Tournament Thread

So there are no teams left in the field that Duke lost to. And I think only 3 left that Duke beat (Illinois, Arizona, Auburn). Not sure what to think of it, if anything.

To be fair… they only lost to 3 teams, and one is actually still in it; UK.

Don’t overthink this. We have a fantastic team. Does that mean we’ll win a natty?? Not exactly, chances are that we don’t… but that’s what makes this tournament so fun.

I do have faith in this team … more than most years. But we’ve had my heart ripped out many times. We shall see.

Apologies if posted elsewhere, but this is the chalkiest first round since 2017. Only 5 double-digit seeds advanced and none of the top 4 seeds knocked off. 2017 ended up with two #1s, a #3, and a #7 (grrrrr) making the Final Four.

Today’s unrestricted portaling promotes chalky tournaments. The mid-majors now often lose their best players to teams higher up the food chain and that movement lessens the chances of upsets.

FWIW, it's been my observation over the years (without really going back to check) that chalky first rounds often lead to chaos in the 2nd round. As long as Duke isn't a victim, I'm fine with that.
