This thread is a good place for general ACC Tournament discussion. I'll start a game thread for Duke's quarterfinal game on Friday against Clemson or Virginia after they play each other on Thursday.

I'm glad we're playing UConn again, but is this not essentially one home game and two road games? It's barely an hour and a half from Storrs to Boston.
I get that geographically it's like another home game for UConn but I don't think we should overlook the obvious homecoming that it is for Kara given her ties to the Celtics. It will clearly be packed with UConn fans but I'm hoping Duke fans can travel for this women's game as well as the travel for the men's games.

Barring an ACCT collapse, we should still be a 3 seed, but that reveal was prior to the games yesterday.
I don't know what you define as a "collapse", but I think we'll at least have to make the finals to get a 3 seed, and it is possible we'll have to win the tourney. I just don't see the committee being very friendly toward an 9-loss team that will have lost 3 of it's last 6 games. They might be a little nicer to an 8-loss team that just won it's conference championship after outright winning the regular season, though.

Either way, I think the pressure is on this week. We are unlikely to have a single "easy" game.

Why can't the Men's tournament use these game times?

The weakest 3 seed may be the way to go. We get the strongest 2-seed but the weakest 1-seed. It just seems like the biggest gap is between the top 4 teams and everyone else.
That's the crux of it. Being a 2 or 3 means we don't see a 1 seed until the Elite Eight. Being a 4 would mean playing them a round earlier, and while I'd still be cheering like crazy for our Devils, we would be substantial underdogs against any one of those teams.

I don't understand why Louisville is still ranked above us. They've also lost 2 of their last 3. They lost at home to an unranked foe, we lost on the road to a ranked foe.

Whatever. All that matters now are the tourneys. I agree with everyone, it's going to be tough with a 7-woman rotation, especially in the ACC. Kara should not just be ACC COY, she should win some national awards with what she's done this year.

I think she'll take it. She won the ACC Network's version. (The ACColadies)

That is not how it will work, especially this year. It looks pretty close to a lock that two 1 seeds will be from the SEC and two 2 seeds will be from the SEC so they will all end up in different regions regardless of where they rank on the seed list. It is unclear if TCU has a path to the 2 seed alongside whichever of Michigan or Iowa makes it furthest in the B1G conference tournament, but all of those B1G teams will also affect placements. I know there are people who really hate the two site format, but it does remove some of the extra geography considerations at least.

Interesting how Ash and T swapped first and second teams depending on the voters. Regardless congrats to all, especially Coach Kara!

Would have loved of course to see Toby get player of the year, but Hildago was really the only choice; she's a great player, even though she may not be a great teammate.

I have a feeling this week ended up costing Toby the award. The losses by Duke coupled with her dropping her average and Hidalgos 30 point effort to close it out sealed the deal
