Probably not, unfortunately. I believe they are mainly seen by already anti-Trump social media users. Preaching to the choir. My cynical side says they are more about making $ for the Lincoln Project founders.
I think part of the goal is to motivate people to get out there and vote. There are people who don't like Trump but don't necessarily despise him. So if on election day it is raining, or they don't want to miss the Showcase Showdown on The Price is Right, or there is a sale at Walmart, or whatever else, they might not bother to vote. But if they are really worked up by something like this (if it happens to get in front of them, which is the big if), perhaps it is enough that voting becomes more of a priority for them.

The same obviously applies the other way, which is Trump's primary campaign MO.

I am for a woman's right to choose, but what exactly can Harris do about this issue if she's elected? Not trying to be snarky, but the Supreme Court unfortunately struck down Roe and put this in the hands of the states regardless of how many of us feel how awful that is. It's not like Harris can address this issue by executive order or get Congress to pass legislation.

We can all agree that the two parties are apart on this issue, but in reality what can the executive branch do to impact it when elected? It's up to state referendums and legislatures to impact a woman's right in each state. Or am I missing something?
The Dems would have to control both houses of Congress and they would have to suspend the filibuster to reinstate Roe v Wade legislatively.

Trump latest…

“Donald Trump is understood to have held “maybe as many as seven” phone calls with President Putin since leaving the White House in 2021”.
But it is "maybe" because Trump put the kibosh on having his calls recorded, and when he realized they were being recorded, he ordered the readouts to be classified. Trump doesn't want those calls on the record. That tells you more than enough to make a decision in this election.

Yeah, this and about a 1,000 other things he’s said and done over the last 8+ years

Keeping in touch with friends is very good life advice.

Also from the article and Bob Woodward's book War.

In 2020, with the pandemic sweeping the globe and the US facing a critical shortfall of tests to detect the disease, Trump is understood to have secretly sent a consignment of Covid-19 tests to Moscow for Putin’s personal use.
As the coronavirus tore through the world in 2020, and the United States and other countries confronted a shortage of tests designed to detect the illness, then-President Donald Trump secretly sent coveted tests to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his personal use.
Putin, petrified of the virus, accepted the supplies but took pains to prevent political fallout — not for him, but for his American counterpart. He cautioned Trump not to reveal that he had dispatched the scarce medical equipment to Moscow, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward.

Foreign dictators before citizens.

I think many of the so-called “independents” aren’t even going to vote. If you’re this wishy-washy of a person that you can’t decide between the widely divergent Republican and Democratic Party candidates then clearly you don’t have strong convictions.

Which means you are less motivated to vote.
I really hate how this board looks down on "so-called independents". This election for many of us comes down to which of our strongly held fundamental beliefs do we want to compromise. It's not so-called or wishy-washy. It's the strong convictions that make the choice difficult.

Okay, so what are you looking to see that will make you decide which has not already happened?

If the choice included John McCain, Mitt Romney, or basically most any other previous Republican candidate, I would understand that point. But Trump is the choice. Running on a platform of lies and racist rhetoric. It truly baffles me and makes me very concerned for our country.

Ok should have made that question more generic. What would people be waiting to see who have not decided? I honestly cannot imagine anything reasonable could come up.
Again, I answered it from my perspective. It's like putting down a family pet that is terminally ill or injured. They know what they have to do, they just don't want to do it.

As for the truly undecided, I'm with you. No idea.

I hear ya, but it's baffling to me that a twice impeached, four time indicted, twice convicted (one being for sexual assault) felon is being considered by anyone "undecided" as a candidate that's fit for office.

Amazing isn't it? Perhaps that are things that the other candidate proudly trumpets that many folks consider a line that can't be crossed because they consider it a far greater evil than all of what you just typed.

For the record, Trump was never "convicted" for sexual assault. AFAIK, convictions happen in criminal case and that was a civil case. Found civilly liable? Yes. Convicted in a criminal court? No. Taking away that conviction, he's actually been convicted 34 times.

To answer my earlier question, here are my Top Ten Reasons To Be Undecided:

10) Living under a rock
9) In a coma
8) Just recently figured out electronics
7) “Some of my personalities are pretty persuasive”
6) “It’s not that I’m lazy, it’s that I just don’t care”
5) “I flipped my coin REALLY high!”
4) “I can’t find Biden on the ballot for some reason?!”
3) “Decided? It’s not even November yet!”
2) “Don’t talk to me till I’ve had my coffee!”
1) “I have issues with commitment”

What an arrogant reply to Packman's post. Your sanctimony slip is showing.
Let me apologize then. I certainly didn’t meant to be or appear to be sanctimonious. Perhaps I was too terse.

I’ve been an independent for 25+ years. I just haven’t found this discussion to dismiss or ignore my concerns. That’s all I was trying to say.

That may be because the Republican Party has become the MAGA party, so that I don’t see myself voting for an R anytime soon.

Again, let me apologize for my earlier post.
