Just a cat watching the debate (be sure to have your sound on):
I thought the President didn't have any power over the National Guard... only the state governors could mobilize them. But does he care? He's going to jail if he loses the election. Maybe he calculates that he can gain leverage to negotiate some type of blanket pardon if he incites civil unrest around the country.
That may sound like a crazy idea to some but this is the same guy who sent an angry mob to the Capitol to stop an election certification and didn't send in the national guard for 3 hours.
Loose language. President Trump could have gotten the rioters at the Capitol to stop, but didn't for several hours. DC mayor Muriel Bowser wanted to activate Natl. Guard, but the Army staff stopped her.I thought the President didn't have any power over the National Guard... only the state governors could mobilize them.
Not if UGa loses. High risk. What if I think
But Trump is going to the Alabama-UGA game in two weeks. Advantage, Trump.
DC is different. There's testimony that Trump could have called the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of the Army to expedite deployment. He didn't. There's also testimony that during this 3 hour period while he watched it on TV, he didn't call any senior officials in his Justice Dept or at the Pentagon - or Mike Pence. He literally did nothing - almost like he was cheering on the mob...I thought the President didn't have any power over the National Guard... only the state governors could mobilize them.

The President of the United States is the commander-in-chief of the District of Columbia National Guard. Command is exercised through the secretary of defenseand the commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), District of Columbia National Guard.
This will be some of the more interesting moments in Trump's election interference case IMO - when these guys are called to the stand and asked to explain under oath why they weren't more prepared for Jan 6 and why, after the Capitol was breached, it took 3 hours to get the guard on the ground.District of Columbia National Guard - Wikipedia

Every time you think Vance has hit bottom, he says “hold my beer” and shows you how wrong you are.
I’ve mentioned it before but Rogan’s beliefs tend much more toward progressive than MAGA. His much more AOC than Mike Johnson or MTG or Jim Jordon. It’s really strange that he is a venerated figure in certain circles. Not sure I've ever seen Joe Rogan mentioned on here. He and Elon Musk are probably the two most influential voices out there with young men just based on their reach. Rogan has the #1 podcast on Spotify w 17M subscribers. He also has 14M subscribers to his YouTube channel.
In his latest podcast, he didn't exactly endorse Kamala Harris but he had nice things to say about her. Out of all the big newsworthy things that happened this week, it's possible this one moved the needle as much as anything...
"They did an amazing job, from the moment Biden drops out, forcing Biden to drop out,” Rogan said of the Harris team in an episode recorded on Sept. 11 that aired Monday. “Whatever they’re doing, whoever’s writing those speeches” and coaching her, “she’s nailing it.”
Which one were you? This is why I need to own an M1A1 Abrams, a few stinger missiles and my very own space based assassination laser.
I'm the one making the sandwiches.
JD Vance would awkwardly like to know how long you have worked there and do you like your jobI'm the one making the sandwiches.
"did you go to Yale law school?"JD Vance would awkwardly like to know how long you have worked there and do you like your job

These are among the biggest LOSERS that live in our great nation.
As one who has never owned a gun nor felt the need to own one but respects the rights of those who choose to responsibly own very basic guns, I have generally assumed that the larger the gun, the more the owner is trying to compensate for, be it masculinity, brain power, self-esteem, or whatever else.
