2024-25 DWBB Season

ESPN is asleep at the wheel this morning. Besides using the same photo for Jackson and Richardson, their boxscore on the website shows the correct time, but still has the score as 26-9. (It's 38-15)
 
It was a terrible quarter all around. Too many fouls, too much bad shot selection, too much confusion on defense. We have to play much better!
 
Wood is having a really good game, the team is having a MUCH better 3rd quarter. 69-30 after three.

Edit, refs called a last second foul, so Wood goes to the line for two. :) 71-30
 
Not the best competition but the ladies mostly looked good. Oppressive defense, mostly really good ball movement and aggressiveness. Three point shooting needs to be better and consistent. Looking forward to another good year. Hate that we have lost two for the season to injuries but we have good depth.
 
Maybe I’m just a Negative Nellie, but I thought this was an OK performance at best. We had trouble with shot selection, we had trouble hitting shots when we were open, we had issues with some of our defensive coverages, and we fouled way too much. Some of that last I attribute to the refs, who called 46 fouls (“only” 22 on Duke) in the game, and were still calling touch fouls with only a few minutes to play and the score north of a 40-point lead.

But whatever. The important bit is that, although we still have a lot of clean-up work to do, we are 1-0 on the season.
