2024-2025 Men’s Basketball Season General Discussion

Great game between TN and IL. I knew TN is good but didn’t know how good IL is. Is there any team better in the BIG? Jakucionas looks like he will have a smooth transition to the NBA.

Another FU at the end of the TN-IL game. I got on SH earlier for allowing Harper to essentially cruise up and launch a shot without anyone bothering to slow him down, and IL committed a similar sin at the end of the game. There were almost six seconds left. FFS, at least try to slow down the best player who has the ball in his hands. Heck, run a second defender at the best player and make him give it up to someone else to try to score. I don't like Rick Barnes, but his team is well-coached and made the proper adjustment to the Illinois defense and made the play.

Jakucionis is sensational. This freshman class is loaded.

Can’t wait to see him and Cooper playing against each other.
Yeah I love watching this kid play. He has great all around PG skills and is fearless. Looks like he would shy away from contact but he doesn't. I can see why he's showing up top 5 in some mocks.

They will be a battle for us in February.

So.... Danny Hurley walks on the court all the way to half-court. Mark Few has one foot on the coach box line. When Few is a couple of feet past that box line, his assistant goes over to tell Few to get back behind the line. Then with uconn on defense, Hurley is on the court stomping his feet. He needs a few T's...

Curious. Why do you not like him? Feel free to ignore :)

I've counted at least 5 missed layups at the rim by Gonzaga in the second half. If they lose, it'll be largely self-inflicted.
karaban also shot 0-7, and uconn well below their average from 3. Looked like two top 10-ish teams, neither of whom played the best they could have.

His staff also keeps standing for several minutes as game action restarts after time outs. It's seems to be their "thing" just like Danny Boy's tantrums. Pretty cute, isn't it?

I just watched UConn/Gonzaga. Both teams look capable of winning it all. UConn has clearly righted itself after Maui and Hurley has modified his behavior from that nadir. McNeeley seems to relish that Cam Spencer spitfire role, he’s really tough.

I hear UConn is on a, what, 20-game winning streak in the continental US?
