A number of years ago, one of my brothers-in-law started the tradition of going around the group gathered for thanksgiving and having each person name 1 to 3 things they were thankful for. My other brother-in-law had the best line one year - he was the last to speak before the more formal blessing and he looked around the room and said he was thankful that most of us had spent a week together in South Dakota and we were still getting together. I am blessed with an amazing family.
I am incredibly excited about this year's Turkey Day. I can't make it home so I am spending the Holidays with the girls from the band, and some other friends. I'm in charge of the bird (herb-brined), gravy (gallons upon gallons), stuffing (wild mushroom and sausage), potato and swiss chard gratin, and green bean casserole. I don't know what everyone else is bringing, but there's plenty more.
I am thankful for all of the close friends that I've met during my adventure out here in California. They have made the journey worthwhile. It's gonna be tough to leave them behind.
Where is hc5dukie? He seems mighty quiet 'round these parts.
Frankly, it seems like you and I are the only people in here right now...
I also ordered a pizza. It just got here. I'm in heaven.
