Back to work; some of us have to be productive.

"That young man has an extra step on his ladder the rest of us just don't have."
Here's one but I doubt it was this one:
Bourbon Barrel Aged German Chocolate Cake Imperial Stout-Southern Pines Brewing Company
(the length of the beer name itself should qualify for at least 10 posts; no nonsense)
Local indeed
Credit-Tripping William; a buncha thank yous!!
Style-probably shouldn't have to explain this one but "chocolate cake batter" is really on the label (oops, wrong thread but since when do titles matter)
Forman-pint can; shared with son last PM
Stemware-snifters
Appearance-20W50; no head
Nose-more dark chocolate than the milky stuff (ooh, I "smell" a new thread possibility) and bourbon
Mouthfeel-it ain't cake but it's thick (no, not 6'1" 175 lbs thick either)
Tastes-semisweet chocolate, bourbon, burnt caramel and coconut, pee-cahns, oak, vanilla and more bourbon
Adjuncts-(I think) vanilla, toasted coconut, cacao and perhaps cinnamon
IBU-87 (; no way)
ABV-12.2% (yes, way)
Overall impression-decadent; sinful; superb; no ovens, toasters, flour, spatulas, spoons or knives were harmed while enjoying this creation
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 3; comparable to Hardywood's German Chocolate Cake Foolery (deeber knows foolery) and SPBC BBA Raisin Pecan Chocolate Pie

Here's the Nuttin' 2it:
nuttin' 2it-Zaftig Brewing Company
Really local when bought.
Credit-a prior tasting from an excellent brewery and the need to complete my order
Style-pecan (imperial) brown ale
Format-a short aluminum tree cylinder
Stemware-snifter
Appearance-dark, dark brown with a thin, tan head
Nose-nutty
Mouthfeel-smooth
Tastes-nuts/pecans, dark caramel, herbal/earthy hops, hints of coffee and chocolate (neither added)
Hops-East Kent Goldings and Willamette
Adjuncts-peecans
IBU-estimated at 30
ABV-10% (whoa!)
Overall impression-tasty night cap, needing the high ABV after last night's loss
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 2; I liked the Olde Hickory Acan better, but that was a tequila barrel aged brown ale; I think the other 3 recipients will still like this

Ended up randomly side-by-side’ing WMB Body Electric vs. NA Flossy. Surprised by how much more I liked the WMB. Although a better hazy color, the NA is quite a bit more bitter and less balanced than the WMB. Interesting.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
