Don't mess with the bull, young man. You'll get the horns.
I'm currently watching the Breakfast Club in glorious HD, finally seeing it in the widescreen format that god intended.
"You see us as you want to see us. In the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions."
Don't mess with the bull, young man. You'll get the horns.
The weekend was good. Emory does a great job with Freshman orientation. You were spot on with Dr. Duke, his talk was fantastic. And funny, he could do a stand up routine.
We met a Dr. lady who may be the head of anthropology? (I forget her name. I'll look it up later.) She knows you and was saddened by your departure.
Leaving our daughter was very hard for all of us, it was a very tearful goodbye. But I feel confident that she is in the right place for her.
Rumors of the Atlanta Mafia are greatly exaggerated. It doesn't exist.
I searched high and low for evidence and found none. Further field research is necessary, but the mafia may in fact be a clever hoax.
This seems like as good a place as any to post this...
I got a new car. A Honda CR-V, to be exact. It cost me a bit more than some other things might have, but I think it'll turn out to be a wise (and actually cheaper in total) decision in the long run. I got it from my mechanic, who recently redid the brakes and suspension and swapped out the engine for a unit with 45,000 miles on it. He does top-notch work, and my whole family has been going to him for a number of years now, so I really trust him (refurbishing and flipping cars like this is sort of a side gig for him). Plus, I know he wouldn't sell me a hunk, because he's well aware that he'll see it again. He actually said at one point in the process that he wanted to help me out because my family has been good to him. It was a refreshing series of interactions with an auto mechanic.
As for my Buick (which I actually rather liked), it's apparently worth peanuts. I'll probably end up selling it for parts, unless any of you want to buy it. Ah, well...you win some, you lose some, and sometimes you just get kicked in the nuts.
I took part in the Last Lecture series the year before he did his. He's a great man. IIRC, his daughter went to Duke, and taught our daughter just before school started back in second grade. The FAME program at Emory has changed a little this year, but has changed for the better. I wish Duke had had something like it when I nearly flunked out as a frosh back so many years ago. Your daughter is in good shape with this safety net.
PM me about the Frosh orientation weekend.
Did you go to the Vortex?
As for the Atlanta Mafia, I now read that Wilson was out getting a car. I am now in Kentucky. I haven't heard from Shammrog in ages. And EarlJam was in search of his iguana.
Rumors of the ATL Mafia's demise are greatly exaggerated.
Don't forget... the ATL DBR Mafia is largely the creation of Indoor66.

I missed that one...
Hey hey ... think we can go for the 24 hour record today?
FWIW, sleep disorders stink.
