All are welcome, whether you drink beer or not. Bring your favorite cocktail/mocktail, wine, spirit or NA beverage as it suits you.

    April’s theme is “classic craft”.
The 25 Most Important American Craft Beers Ever Brewed | Food & Wine?

    Recommendation is go find:
    Allagash White
    Anchor Steam
    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

If you feel you want/need more:
    Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale
    DFH 60 minute IPA
    Sam Adams Boston Lager

Don’t feel limited by the above, I figured it would be fun to have a common experience.

I’m also debating incorporating a short trivia game, so bring paper and a pen.

Zoom to be posted on Friday, April 9.

Can anyone name the first US "craft" brewery without looking at the article?

If you are ever vacationing at Lake Tahoe, which I highly recommend, you should definitely stop and get a pizza and a brew from this place. I honestly don't remember the individual beers but I do know that I enjoyed every single one of them. We vacationed at Tahoe for a week a few years back and I also ended up making two trips near there for work. And I had to stop by each time. Great food and great beer!
Added to Bucket List. I've never been to Lake Tahoe, but I bet it's incredible and would love to visit, drink beer, eat pizza, view the scenery, and play some poker, blackjack, and craps

Plus Lake Tahoe might sound more appealing to beergoddess than Vegas

lemme know when you're ready to go back

If you're in Richmond and looking for a refreshing Lager, get the Hardywood Richmond Lager. But if that's not available, this one is pretty good too. I'm kidding. This is an excellent summer porch-pounder! Definitely worth a try if you find it anywhere.
This is probably the first review that makes me want to drink a different beer. I do want to try a Hardywood Richmond lager now. (And this one which is actually rated higher than the Hardywood on Untappd - slightly

Bingo's does sound goood -(from Untappd) - "Classically crushable, modesty modern Helles lager. 100% German malt with Tettnanger and Mandarina Bavaria hops in whirlpool."

Sounds like a fun one to side by side with Red Oak

This has possibly become my favorite beer from these guys. At least in the winter time.

Who knew stouts could be so good?
If only we could get fuse to talk this way about baltic porters. This one does sound damn good.

I thought I knew something about Richmond beer, and this is the first I've paid attention to this Bingo beer company.

Big difference. So weird. The 12 ouncers of Curieux were High Cat 2. The 750's were Cat 3 +

Funny. I heard it from a friend who may now be named that we might be going Back to Richmond in late May...

I don't recall rest stops being an issue when beergoddess drove me home from Veil last time.

I'll be searching and feeling for this one. Some of the New Anthems I've recently had have been even better than I expect. And they always Clear Cat 3. Always.

An orange infused IPA made with Simcoe, Cascade and Centennial hops.

Poured a clear amber with a hint of orange. Nice 1/4 to 3/8" head.
Hops and just a hint of the orange to the aroma.

This balanced out very well. It's nothing like taking an IPA and squeezing in a slice of orange, which I guess is what I expected. This is more like "just enough orange peel zest to give you the hint of orange to complement the hops". As it warmed, the orange came out a bit more, but still pleasant.

Did I mention a hint of orange?

Honestly, it was a little better than I was expecting. I'd give it a pretty high 2, possibly even a low 3.

Bodes well for the Hop Duster DIPA from Blue Mountain that is chillin in the fridge...
I had this beer at Blue Mountain years ago I believed and enjoyed. I'm surprised it didn't make your list, which I can promise you is more impressive than the quality of my push-ups

A worthy "rival" for The Veil beer smoothies. More later.
I watched a free Pearl Jam streamed concert from 2010 Hyde Park this weekend (while drinking beer):

"The stream will run from Friday, April 2nd at 8 PM ET through Monday, April 5th at 11:59 PM ET on Pearl Jam’s YouTube and Facebook as well as on nugs.net. There will be no cost to stream this performance"

They played everything good from back in the day, including a searing Black:

I'll look for this. I've had some outstanding beers from Newgrass, of this variety I believe. I also had one that was terrible (an over-hopped Galaxy IPA IIRC). But this review and the promise of impressing beergoddess with a fruity beer means I'll give them another shot. Thanks!
