Spent thirty minutes in the dark helping a stranger get a sting ray off their line and back into deep water.

    It was a good day

reminds me of the time our heroic dog Trevor was on the beach at the OBs and scarfled down an entire jellyfish (he's a labrador, they do these things)...fortunately it came right out about 20 seconds later. Hazards of the ocean!

Hey, snow on the ground this morning, it begins!

    Wow.

Can't say I'm jealous of that!

75 and sunny here at the beach. Rented some kayaks.

I started off years ago building my own PCs. But then I found cars and well I haven't progressed beyond that.

Yes, and yet we continue to eat raw batter! (Me especially) I'll have to ponder the pasteurized egg thing.

Not going to stop now - I figure it has helped build up my immunities. Plus, who knows what fun germs I have eaten - for a while growing up, we washed our vegetables in clorox and were supposed to boil our water for 30 minutes* before drinking it.

    * Our house tested worse than others on the compound - they just had to boil water for 20 minutes. I'm still sad that we didn't bring one of the huge tea kettles back with us.

I understand it's rainy and crappy back in Asheville, but here on Ocracoke it is nearly 80. Great weather for kayaking and beach walking.

Doesn't sound like there is any reason to go back?

Today, I am going to try and calm down. Even if only for today.
