Jason Williams earns some street cred

Looks like JWill went off last night in a game at Dyckman Park in NYC. His new nickname... Bourne Supremacy.

He was such an incredible player, it'd be great to see him run and gun again.

Few have had the competitive drive J-Will had on the court. What makes him such a treasure is that he possesses it off the court, as well, and always has. He is driven to succeed, and he will. It's a shame for the sport that we didn't get to see him at full-tilt in the NBA; but we'll all benefit from what J-Will does over the course of his non-playing career, I've no doubt.

Glad he's still takin' it to the competition on the court though, too.

Nice article and he's still only 28. I wonder if he will try the NBA one more time...

    Not a chance.

Why JWILL of all people should need cred of any sort is beyond me.

Actually, when I read the above post, my first thoughts were not to the NBA, but USA Basketball. Could J-Will make the USA Basketball team? I don't know... but if he can, maybe he can actually be a "full time" member of the team... no NBA obligations... and bring continuity that the team needs...

my leg hurts everyday from a motorcycle accident back in 75....346 stitches and pins in my foot ....

when i heard about JW's accident, it tore me up to think about what he had lost ( it still does)

we've all mentioned many time the OTHER things that duke athletes leave with in regard to non-athletic life experiences. I'm loving that JW had a great job, still plays ball, still rules steve gottlieb and seems to have overcome the tragic event that nearly took his life...

i follow JW on twitter and i sure wish he was in the NBA along with many of you...

last sentence reads as if many of us are in the nba. maybe. who knows who's lurking on here.

i love this story. what better setting for an old dukie to show some skill than the nyc playground. love any story where people overcome serious adversity. kind of the best part of competition...perseverance, attitude, living with a purpose, believing in yourself. it's inspiring. his pro career is over but he's a quite good analyst and he's going to figure out a way to say that these things happened for a reason and made him better in the long run.
