I eat a lot of beans because of the low-carb thing. They form the base of lots of things that I eat. I don't find that I have more or less flatulence because of beans. In saying that, I do fart a hefty amount. I just don't think it's being related. And by Hefty amount I mean that I think I personally have some effect on climate change.

This is a good query. When I lived in Seattle, people would sometimes say "wow, it's too hot" at, say, 78 degrees. My answer was always "too hot for what?"

Saying "it's too hot" implies that it is prohibitively hot for something. 85 degrees? Too hot for a long run. 95 degrees? Too hot to mow the lawn. 100 degrees? Too hot to weed the garden at noon.

78? What is it too hot for other than ice skating?

In this case it is a wee limerick type phrase with which a female carpool member of mine used to torment another very prudish carpool member. The second phrase begins “but when the frost is on the pumpkin. “. Hint: what it is too hot for is definitely not ice skating.
