Maybe 2020 is not so bad after all. Something good just happened. Can we just move to January 20, 2021 right now, though?
Earthquake in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Only 4.0..,,Ho hum so passé for 2020
Iota is only the 2nd Cat 5 November hurricane in history. Hitting roughly the same place that Cat 4 Eta did less than 2 weeks ago. God help Nicaragua.
Eta was only the 4th Cat 4 November hurricane in history, and they've all come since 1999 (like, remember when we partied?). Obviously November has never had two such storms before in the same season, let alone hitting the same place.
We've also got the most named storms in history with 2 weeks left in the season. But they started before the season (Arthur and Bertha came in May), so who knows.
2020 also gave us Typhoon Goni, the strongest landfalling tropical cyclone on record according to sustained 1-minute winds (195 mph).
Unfortunately, this is probably a trend and not an aberration. May we one day look back at 2020 with a whimsical fondness? ...NAH!...

not a fun sight to greet you each morning.
We get on the order of hundreds of buzzards at the office building where I work. Or did pre-pandemic.

Zombie Minks. Really!?!
It's gotten so bad that octopuses are punching fish. https://www.sciencealert.com/octopus...5qjvxtez931HTQ
It's tragic to learn that "octopi" is not in fact the plural for many octopus.

Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
I see a correlation that leads me to a regretful conclusion ... Clemson wins in chapel hill to start out the pandemic...NC State beats unc in Raleigh right when vaccines are rolled out....
Roy get your team back on track so that we can get out of the pandemic!!
