Nah, 'twas just a collection of columns (Mars / Venus). I haven't read any of Barry's fiction - I understand he's working the same side of the street as Carl Hiaasen - pretty funny but also a bit weird.

Man oh man oh man was that painful. I love John Smoltz. Always have, even while a Brave, but it appears he's lost it. Poor guy. I'd still like to give him a couple more chances to see if it comes back. But I'm not hopeful. Beckett goes tonight. That should be fun.

Joba wasn't much better than Smoltzie, giving up, what? 7 walks in 5 innings. And that trend continued throughout the game, right down to Claggett walking a couple in the 9th inning and giving up a couple of meaningless runs, 12 walks total for the game plus a hit batsman? Sheesh! We just outhit you, which is nice for a change

I sure hope Burnette pitches better tonight. It should be a good game!
