    Big fan of all three.

I have slowly come to see "Parks and Rec" as a better show than "The Office"

At all stages? I’d argue they had a Star is Born dynamic.

    How about head-to-head character match-ups?

    Better character:

    Michael or Leslie?
    Jan or Ron?
    Dwight or Andy?
    Jim or Brandanowicz?

    Couple of comments -

A friend dated Brandonowicz in high school. Didn't have anything good or bad to say.

I think Parks and Rec is the superior show because of a superior ensemble cast. You can watch the show and be in love with a half dozen characters at once.

Leslie Knope is most a non-character. She's sort of the lens through which we see everything take place. Michael Scott is a well-meaning oaf who has a large effect on the action.

Both ar excellent shows. Nothing on P&R is as cringeworthy as Scott's Tots.

See. I think The Office had deeper bench of genuinely funny, more richly observed (in the everyday sense) characters. After they hooked up, Jim and Pam became useless and I enjoyed when bad things happened to them though I did appreciate the writers understanding how bad Pam sucked and having a viewer call her on it in the final episodes. So, the central love interest in Parks and Rec was a more dynamic pair for sure. Rashida Jones is boring in both.

I really enjoyed both shows immensely. I just think Parks and Rec has aged better.

I'm disappointed. You don't have an unreasonable, absolute opinion about this. I really expected you to come back and say, "Treat yo'self" is the zeitgeist of this American era.

The Ron Swanson Pyramid of Success IS the zeitgeist of this American era.

Anything with 'honor' at the pinnacle is definitely not the current zeitgeist! And isn't Pyramid of Greatness?

April is great, but she isn't nearly as much fun without Andy. They make each other's characters better.

And whoever disparaged Rashida Jones up thread had better be ready for a fist fight. I'm totally team Ann Perkins.

If you were a real Parks and Rec fan, all 10 of these would say, "Lil' Sebastian".

She's a vanilla character in both shows. Maybe vanilla bean in Parks and Rec. Maybe.

Really? No one else has a soft spot for Rashida Jones?

Wow. I didn't expect to be on an island with that one.
