I’ve only been to Vegas to make right my wrongs. A man must pay a price.

The one thing I've gotten to do in Vegas that I enjoyed that I couldn't do elsewhere was walk to where Tupac got shot and pay my respects. Poured out a little bit of coffee. It was 7:00 in the morning.

    Bloody nose, empty pockets
A rented car with a trunk full of guns
It ain't true that the sun don't rise in Vegas
    I've seen it once

She might have been somebody's mama
He might have been somebody's son
But if the sun went down on them that night in Vegas
Their luck was good as gone

They'll be after me by the time the buffet closes
Making sure Sin City still shines brighter than creation's dark
If all you need is a badge to take what's left from those who lost it
A badge ain't no more real than bullets are

    A bloody nose, empty pockets
A rented car with a trunk full of guns
Checkout time is sundown in Las Vegas
    But it only rises once

3/4 lb of brisket and hot guts sausage at Lewis BBQ. Experiencing waves of euphoria.

There is only one DBR poster that I think has stories anywhere close to the scenario described above and sadly he no longer is a poster (or is allowed to post).

I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.

Not as satisfying as I hoped it would be tbh.

    Chuck Wepner

Perhaps there should be a forum for comments on the non-basketball/non-Duke stories that appear on the DBR front page.

If this forum is for random thoughts, I had one based on today's story about Chuck Wepner vs. Mohammad Ali.

Here is the quote from the story:

Unfortunately for Webber (SIC), Ali, who wasn’t in great shape for this fight, came off of stool ready to make Wepner pay. He cut him open above both eyes and broke his nose before the official called the fight on a TKO late in the 15th round.

What I remember from the fight was Wepner's nickname, "The Bayonne Bleeder." Of course Ali cut him; I'm surprised Wepner didn't start bleeding (from fear) before the fight.

Here's a quote from the following article:
    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...time-nicknames

Chuck Wepner (35-14-2, 17 KOs) was a rugged heavyweight who was stopped in the 15th round by Muhammad Ali in 1975. Credited as the inspiration for Rocky, Wepner is an almost mythological figure for the punishment he absorbed and the amount he bled.

That aspect of Wepner definitely was portrayed correctly in Rocky.

Was there ever a Henry Cooper vs Chuck Wepner bleeding match (officiated by Florence Nightingale)? I’d love to see the tape
