I couldn't wait that long and so went to a place on Wednesday.

I am very much looking forward to my traditional Friday evening cheeseburger today. I have richly earned it this week.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful.

Actually - it's getting a bit better now, but it was frightful.

It's here! Today is the day!

It's The Oyster Riot at The Old Ebbitt Grill in DC! No holds barred gluttony. Oysters from both coasts and Canada. Yippee!!!!

    Catatonia, full steam ahead.

Up too late watching foootball. A 7-5 Duke versus a 6-6 Vandy in the Indepence Bowl would work out well for me.

Ok, think I have the Tgiving sitch under control. Many hours trudging to grocery, wine, ABC stores.

And, wine, did I get enough?

Grab an extra red and white, just in case. . . .

I'm about to put turkey #1 of 3 in the oven, this one for my school's annual Thanksgiving feast.
Boy, do I love this time of year.

Even more discussion of the LTE's demise. Some will never learn.

Roasting a duck on Thursday. Looking forward to it!

Much like Coach K's rock solid rep, the LTE keeps on trucking.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Unless it’s a sprint, of course. Then slow and steady loses.

I'm doing a turkey breast Thursday. I really like stuffing more than the whole turkey thing. But the highlight might be the sausage egg casserole for breakfast.

Picking up my turkey later today - always get a fresh turkey from the same small grocery store that has an old style (and awesome) butcher shop.

    A Thanksgiving public service announcement.

I am sorry to report that Pumpkin Pie PopTarts are disgusting. I may have posted that before but it bears repeating.

I'm going to try the crockpot for stuffing this year. Not enough room in the beach oven. Has anyone done this in the past? Suggestions welcome!

Crockpot stuffing with broth or stock, then finish in the oven so it’s not soggy mush. Just stick it in there for 10-15 minutes after your other dishes finish.
