This is quite true. I remember drinking Old Chubb cans from Oskar Blues when they first came out. We tried them at our poker home game as 2002 was back in the NLH poker heyday. I thought the cans were inferior to bottles when I first saw them, but quickly changed my mind when I tried Old Chubb. I should have had more Dale's Pale Ale, and thankfully there is still time to rectify that.

Suddenly Beautiful (draft)-New Anthem Beer Project

    Close enough to local

Credit-$4 off a mini growler on FrIPAdays at Bottle Rev
    Style-sour IPA :e
    Format-^^^^
    Stemware-large wine glass
    Appearance-yellow orange; moderate, creamy head
    Nose-funk and fruit
    Mouthfeel-puckery, yet fruity
Tastes-sour peaches, fresh squeezed grapefruit and lemon juices, wet hay
Fermentation-mixed (guessing Brettanomyces and standard IPA yeasts)
    Hops-Mosaic and Cashmere
Overall rating-interesting brew with a bit more sour than IPA
Ymm, Beer rating-sneaks into low cat 3 based on adventure and execution; a bit dissonant but New Anthem is pretty adventurous and pulls it off

Back to JackieO’s in Athens Ohio. If you’re ever in the area, they have a restaurant and brewpub in downtown Athens. A taproom in their brewery on the outskirts of Athens. Recently they opened a taproom in downtown Columbus.

My last and most favorite from JackieO's -

    Bourbon Barrel Skipping Stone
Belgian style Quad Ale aged in bourbon barrels.
A timeless action of nature in motion inspired a beer both rich and elegant. Bourbon Barrel Aged Skipping Stone exudes powerful notes of caramel, dark fruit, spice, and oak. A beautiful beer to imbibe in subtle surroundings, where the mind can roam. Rich, smooth, bourbon and chocolate.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Nuts For You

9% ABV. Peanut Butter stout aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months

Nice balance of the rich malts, peanuts, cocoa, and bourbon barrel. Not overly sweet, have to love liquid peanut butter (and bourbon)...they do make a non-BBA version, it's good too.

    also Zaftig...

    Ol' Rugger Russian Imperial Stout

    Stout - Russian Imperial

    16% ABV

"Our bourbon barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout is a nod to our friend Lynn Harvey and the great sport of rugby. Big and bold with notes of tobacco, molasses, dark fruit, vanilla and chocolate make this a beer that exemplifies a Rugger and Zaftig. As they say, "Never let good enough BE enough"

Luckily this comes in a 12oz. bottle, not a 750ml. Sipping the 12oz. still took a couple hours. My sister got in a lottery for this. Missed out on the Double BBA version, extremely limited. But, I did get two variants, Ol' Rugger with Vanilla and Cocao Nibs and Ol' Rugger Orange Vanilla. Can't wait to try them...

BIG WILLY - BOURBON BARREL AGED WEE HEAVY
Big Willy is as gentle a giant as ever roamed a heath. Brimming with Honey Malt and Chocolate Wheat, the weighty stride of this Wee Heavy Ale is softened by a stint in freshly used bourbon barrels. The result is a flavorful footprint of toasted oak, rich toffee and vanilla. Fee-fi-fo-yum.

    ABV: 12.1%
Aged: 12 Months in Bourbon Barrels
    Hops: Magnum, Glacier
Malts: Maris Otter, Pale Chocolate, Melanoidin, Crystal Dark, Carafa 2.

Have one of these, hoping to trade Glenn for some more Imperial Satan's Pony
