I'm going to have a blueberry Leggo waffle. I eat them plain, without syrup. My whole family thinks it's gross. I don't care.

Finally got started putting in some miles for the Massachusetts Virtual Endurance Challenge yesterday. I needed some motivation so I signed up for this thing. I've got to put in 81 miles (running or walking) between now and July 31. It started on June 17 so I'm already behind. I did a 5k yesterday in 90 degree heat so instead of my usual run/walk, I did walk/run. Actually it was walk, walk some more, run for a bit, walk. Normally, on days like that, I'd run on the treadmill inside the air-conditioned gym.

Heat and running and my age are not a good combo. Still, I managed to get 'er done. Only 77.9 miles to go!

Just plain old blueberry muffins. Given the prevalence of the virus now in the community, I’m going with what I have stored/saved for the next week or two.

Maybe throw on some peanut butter?

I don't eat Eggos frequently at all, but I've also been known to do this. I think most syrup is vastly, profoundly overrated. For that matter, I find the "syrup vehicle" category of breakfast foods (waffles, pancakes, French toast) to be similarly overrated.

That is totally acceptable in my book, but I'm not a fan of Eggos. I actually prefer Harris Teeter's own brand of blueberry waffles, and especially their multigrain waffles. And while plain is acceptable, I do usually go for pure maple syrup, heated for a few seconds before pouring.

Yes, Eggo waffles. Silly me. But I think of them as Leggos because advertising works! Leggo my Eggo!

I am a fan of syrup breakfast foods but that's probably because I live close enough to Vermont to get real maple syrup.

FWIW, Lego waffles are an actual thing.

Awesome! I would have definitely encouraged fort building with breakfast foods if I'd had one of those when my kids were little. Probably shouldn't tell them that in case they feel they were cheated out of happy childhoods because of it.

My mom keeps encouraging me to set up a Zoom call for her to talk to me and all the boys. I keep saying I don't know how to set up a Zoom call. Two of my boys call her regularly on the phone. It should be enough. It isn't, but it should be.
