We have an extremely tall tree right next to our house. We have had it looked at to make sure it isn't damaging the foundation and to make sure it is in no danger of toppling over. I am not good at estimating heights but it is taller than the tower of our house (I live in a Victorian), so, I'm guessing at least 50 and probably more like 70 ft tall. They told us minimum 10k and that was several years ago, probably twice that now. We did not have the 10k at the time. We have decided it's a problem for the next owners to tackle because for now, it's a beautiful healthy hemlock - that is still way too close to our house.
