A few days ago, someone posted how zanny it was for the NBA to recognize its Hispanic fan base by simply putting the word "The" in front of the name on the jersey.
This got me, EarlJam, to thinking.
If the Tarheels wanted to recognize their German fan base (perhaps for Heindrik Rodel (sp)) in the same way, it could but the German word for "The" on its jersey's and marketing materials for one day, leaving the name "Tarheels" in English.
This would read, "Die Tarheels."
Just a thought. I think they should do this.

P.S. I know that the German language is gender specific, hence the proper grammer may be "Der Tarheels" or "Den Tarheels" but please, do not ruin my amusement by alerting me to this.
Die Teer-Ferse.
Prosecutor: What about that tattoo on your chest? Doesn't it say die Bart die?
Sideshow Bob: No, that's German
[unveils tattoo]
Sideshow Bob: for 'The Bart The'.
Parole Board Member: No one who speaks German could be an evil man.

"Eh, she's always leaving the toilet seat up!"
I HAVE to go home and watch that epi now.
A thread veering deep into Simpsons territory, and Throaty is nowhere to be found. For shame.
