Ha, good one, a lot of people just don’t have a sense of humor. Some years ago a tyke sprinted down the aisle of a grocery store, wrapped his arms around my knee and screamed “Daddy!”

Was your wife mad to find out like that?

I felt my child kicking last night. That's quite a trip.

It's less fun once they're born.

I would said it's all fun and games until they learn to say no. Negotiating with a toddler is on the job learning.

I'd like to think that a dozen years spent in the sweaty, hormonal adolescent trenches have prepared me for the endeavor to at least some mild extent.

    First: Congratulations.

Second: It's a different world you will be entering. The sense of joy/accomplishment/relief you get when the two year finally eats their vegetables after a prolonged negotiation hard to explain. Mind you they will eat that stuff for months without issue until one day they release there is the option to say no.

My finicky dog, fresh off a nearly two-day fast that led us to wonder if he was sick until we added (literally) a few drops of chicken broth to this morning's bowl, would seem to be helping that prep as well.
