One day I had to go to the office of this C-level exec to prep her for a Fortune event. She was the first (maybe the second) female C-level exec in this particular company's history and it's a 500,000 person company. So, she's a bad a**, you know? Anyway, I'm up there with the IT guy who is loading her talk onto her iPad. Her desktop has had the background changed to the picture below. The IT guy looks at me and says, "She called me up here the other day JUST to change her background to that picture because she liked it so much."

About that time the exec walked in and caught us talking about the picture. She looked me dead in the eye and said, "I'm the shark."

The Odyssey of the furniture ordered last December continues, most of it's in transit, but no one knows where...

We had good luck replacing our dryer. The hubby decided that yes, we needed a new dryer, when the one that has been in this house for longer than we have lived here and was, we estimated, about 30 years old, finally gave out. The hubby kept it going for a couple of years past the time the repairman said it was time for a new one. But even he finally admitted defeat. From the time we ordered it until it was installed (yesterday!) was about 10 days.

when our old dryer died late last year, there was a looooong wait for many models, but surprisingly, they had Speed Queens in stock, and they are by far (according to Consumer Reports) the most trouble free brand, so Voila on that...

Our furniture saga is truly a first world problem, it's become kind of comical...it will be a pleasant surprise if it ever shows up...they told me yesterday that the current wait time for newly ordered furniture is 15 months.

My afternoon would consist of looking at an uninstalled sink if this was at my house.
