Chacos and Keens have great arch support. Most people swear by one or the other. I'm a weirdo who has both. Go try some on at REI. You might find an end of summer deal.
I'm not sure how man walked before arch support. Did we stay on all fours until New Balance created foam insoles? The world may never know.

when I was but a wee tyke, the only sport shoes out there were Keds which were as flat as a cow's butt. My feet and legs hurt SO bad every night after running around all day in those things. Phil Knight changed some stuff for the better, at least he did for me.

Flat as a cow’s butt is not a thing. I googled it.

Do you have high delicate arches?

oh yes it is! At least it is in states where there are cows.

Somewhat ironicaly, I have two of the flattest feet you have ever seen, but counterintuitively they require a lot of support. I had to have some orthotics put in my shoes to relieve the pain...no longer required once cushioned running shoes with arch support arrived on the scene in the 1970s...

Hmmm. It’s BARELY a thing then. Nothing returned when I googled that exact phrase!

So, you’re not a follower of the barefoot or gorilla shoe movement then?

I know about it, it's just not for my feet...cow butts are a pretty big deal here, we have a lot of them...generally one per cow!

My uncle tried to join the Navy in WW-II, but was rejected due to extremely flat feet. Fast forward a few months, and he was drafted into the Army. He was assigned as a paratrooper. Go figure.

I know, right. All we need is a bunch of goats born out of wedlock.
