That is the difference in usable daylight today in the last three places I've lived. I noticed when I first moved here 8 years ago that it got dark early here by the end of August.
Last summer, we went from Puerto Rico in mid-july to Scotland in early august. Wildly different daylight hours!

For us, it is the silver lining for it being the hottest time of the year. The daylight hours peak just as it really starts to heat up in mid June. Our day is already an hour shorter than at the summer solstice and being further south are much shorter than Cincinnati and Boston.

Don’t get me wrong, it is still hot.

I wish! If you have a (standing seam) metal roof, the snow at some point (many factors, depth, water content, temperature, etc) slides off. When this happens just around cocktail hour, I turn grumpy, because it MUST be shoveled up lest it turn into a nasty mountain of ice over night...This dynamic occurs both in front of our garage doors and our front door/deck. I've lived with it like this for 20 years, I shall live under it's tyranny no longer!

The real name of the product is the S-5, but how boring is that? Vive La Snowguarde Trois Milles!https://s-5.com/products/snow-retention/

Done after a late start and a 12 minute conversation outside with the neighbor. We both work for the same company, he needed to vent. I had a mask on for 4 of it. We were about 10 feet apart. In retrospect, I should have kept the mask on but I needed to clean my glasses.

PS I did not touch my face to remove the mask and glasses. I should have just kept it on...

I shared a blanket with a friend for a picnic lunch yesterday. We sat on opposite ends of the blanket and did not sit facing each other. Still, we both took a bit of a risk. Town where she lives 0.7% positivity rate, town where I live 0.8% still, it's not zero. Riskiest thing I've done since March.

I did not mow the lawn today, but, I did clean my guinea pigs' cage.

Yeah, it was the riskiest situation I've encountered in 7 weeks. Old habits die hard however and he could tell I was nervous about it.
