Agreed. For some reason I've been very aware of the mortality of my pets as of late. We have two dogs and two cats - no kids. We are about as "into" out pets as a person can be without being a weirdo.

No, I said specifically I'm NOT a weirdo. Trust me.

Poor kitty. I didn't know there were emergency vets until Pumpkin had an eye issue. She's fine now and we think she can even still see out of that eye.

I unfortunately have been overly familiar with them both here and when I lived in Ohio.

What is heartbreaking are the people who come in with their pets but leave hours later with tear-filled eyes. I’ve been in their shoes 3 times now and it is never easy.

Me too, and me neither 😎 (very aware but not weird). Two dogs and 4 cats, aged 10-16, all rescues of some sort at the urging of 4 kids who don’t live here anymore.

Many emergency visits but only one horrible one for me, and I can still get teary about it sometimes.

Cardiologist weighed in, meds won't help, a pacemaker is needed. So, it becomes a quality of life issue now. 😔

It is at precisely this moment where I realize how big the hole in my life is where she used to be.

Yes. And that makes sense. And it makes it even more difficult. Sorry man.

    Sounds tasty.

Our fridge is broken (freezing everything) so I’m without eggs. Real bummer.
