I went to summer camp on the Neuse River. I have a sharks teeth collection from there and an embarrassing amount of seashells from the gulf coast.

I have probably a hundred and fifty or so shark teeth including a great Megalodon tooth from Carolina Beach. I have found shark teeth all over the North Carolina coast.

I hate you for this. I want to find one.

I have found a Scotch Bonnet, a baby octopus, and my mom found a seahorse a few years ago. Megalodon is something still on my list.

I found some bottle caps and some broken glass. Mostly with my feet. No Lego’s yet, at least on the beach.

No sharks teeth. Possibly due to frequent blurred vision. A side effect of being on a beach.

I'm not much of a beachgoer.

This isn't top 10 on the list of reasons. Number one is probably my dancing ability.

I'm someone who absolutely hates sitting on the beach because I despise relaxation. Vacations are for experiences. But at least if I'm at the beach I can look for shells and sharks teeth.

Seems like 2 dudes on the slap thread are using a single anecdote to question years of systemic and state sponsored racist violence. This is akin to using a single false accusation to say that we shouldn't believe women when they make accusations of sexual assault. And it has a "talking point" kind of feel. I ain't getting involved in that dumbassery.

“Travel” is for experiences. “Vacations” are for relaxing. Each has a place.

Then I only travel. I recognize I am in the minority here.

What about "on holiday" at DBR?

Sometimes I find it relaxing when other posters are on holiday.

Back to back to back to back meetings that all run long may not be the best thing for ones sanity.

I have a candle for meetings. Smells like it could have been an effing email.

    Useful distinction, -jk.
I tend more toward the "travel" end of things, although the experiences and pursuits thereof are inherently relaxing and restorative to me.
Next week for me is much more toward the "vacation" end of the spectrum, as it will heavily emphasize things like frozen drinks and eating ice cream for lunch, though it will also include some experiences like paddling, birdwatching, go-karting, etc.

I did it for you, although, in the end, I gave up. I feel absolutely comfortable in my decision to put a couple more DBR posters in the CMWG zone. I'm sure you can figure that one out, CD.

    Of course. I am one.
