As for the Jim Carrey version, I have decided that it doesn't exist. See it if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you.

I have no plans to see the Carrey version - I just don't see how the story can translate well into a longer movie. Besides, it would be hard to top the Grinch's dog from the animated version. He was my favorite.

Don't limit yourself to the grocery store. Do you belong to a gym? How about joining a co-ed volleyball league? There are lots of places where you can meet nice women, including the internet.

If you find a DVD that says "The Grinch starring Jim Carrey" and attempt to play it on your computer, the virus will reformat your hard drive and use your email address to subscribe to every porn site it can find. If you play it on a generic DVD player attached to a TV, the TV will melt.

Agreed. The really difficult pick is between Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Family Christmas. I might have to make the young Turks watch them both back-to-back and see what they think. They would probably lean toward MFC at this point, but it's been a while since we've watch the Carol.

Wow. Well, it sort of is. It's been discontinued, and the cheapest used copy on Amazon is $78.95. Christmas Eve on Sesame Street (also excellent), however, is only $8.99.

I would definitely watch anything Muppet before the Jim Carrey Grinch. I wish the Muppet Show was still on. (I may have to pull out my book - "Miss Piggy's Guide to Life" for a refresher course this week.)

That's actually an unauthorized set. The official releases are only through season three so far.
As for Emmett Otter, yes...there was a full-length special. It's available on DVD, and they replay it on TV some years.
