C’mon now. At this point in life you should know better than to believe everything you read.

Not unless they are given an athletic scholarship.

Not sure there is an NCAA limit on size of teams, but a walk-on does not, of course, count against the limit of 13 scholarships.

...but who the hell is Ivan Renko? Once upon a time back in 1993, a 6-foot-8, 230 pound power forward from Yugoslavia (Serbia) entered the recruiting world off the lips of Indiana’s head coach Bobby Knight. Knight brought media attention to the player claiming that he committed to play for Indiana...

Its Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. Scouting report states good offensive moves, but has no defense what so ever. Wants to be a ball hog and always blames others for his own mis-shots

Besiktas is one of the top clubs in Turkey. Former UNC PG Joel Berry plays for them. So does former Indiana star James Blackmon.

It appears Borden has played in 2 games for the U19 team, averaging 9.5 minutes per game with 2 points scored and 8 total rebounds.

And just to clarify, the Besiktas men's team is among the top teams in Turkey. But Borden doesn't appear to play for the Besiktas men's team. As you mentioned, he plays for the Besiktas U19 team. In European sports, the U19 team has relatively little bearing to the first team, as many of those guys on the U19 team never play for the men's team. The majority of those guys either wash out or are loaned/sold to another team.

The 2021 FIBA Men's U19 World Cup Gold Medal game between USA and France is starting in a few minutes.
No Duke commits are playing, but former recruits include Chet Holmgren and Patrick Baldwin Jr.

France leads USA 42-37 at the half. France's Victor Wembanyama (17 yo, 7'2") leads all scorers with 18 points.

That kid looks ridiculous. Only 17 too.

Easily the number one pick in 2023.

Game changer. Him and Holmgren are unicorns.

USA comes from behind to win 83-81. Wembanyama got into foul trouble and then fouled out with 3 minutes left and 22 points. Kenny Lofton Jr. and Jaden Ivey each had 16 points for USA. A well-deserved gold medal for the U19 team.
