Hey blublood, you must be new to this thread. My youngest son (now age 3) was diagnosed with a brain tumor in December 2006. He completed his course of chemotherapy on March 5th. His prognosis is now excellent.

I'm running the Boston Marathon this year to celebrate and to raise money for pediatric cancer research with a team from Mass General. There's a thread about that too. But, I'll post it here again. Should you care to donate to my efforts (and join many other DBR posters, thanks guys!), I have website set up for that purpose, http://www.firstgiving.com/lisaburdick. My husband, also a Dukie, is running too.

I do remember reading that, but owing to the illustrious success of the LTE, it was several months ago and I didn't connect the dots to your screen name. In any case, how wonderful for your baby boy and your family!! Good luck with the marathon!

    It's snowing here. Argh.

I need to get somewhere warm and sunny ASAP.

    To Infinity and Beyond!!!

Is it too late to jump into this thread? How about if I offer money? As anyone knows who has walked into a cancer clinic of any variety, it's where you can find stories of great tragedy and of equally great heroism. My wife was diagnosed with an estrogen (-) breast cancer now 3 years ago (the threshold for being considered "cured" is 2 years remission with this cancer) and so I know a little of what you've gone through, BostonDev. I've just written you a check which I'll mail out this weekend. Good luck with your fundraising efforts.

I haven't read the entire thread so I don't know whether the observation has already been made but I checked out the posting statistics for this thread and guess what, no Jason Evans. I envision him struggling with the desire to make a statement of delicious irony while steeling his nerve with bloody rites of self-flagellation to resist the temptation to post.

    To Infinity and Beyond....!!!!!

Anyone with the sense of humor (and specificity?) to put in the location you have entered in your profile is more than welcome on the LTE! The more, the merrier!

Smile It's not too late, it's alright

It's never too late to join the LTE. Statistics on a thread? Oh wow! How to do that?

I'm up in Kentucky today and tomorrow. Cold and rainy. Bleccch.

Losing lots of money, but getting a sampler pack for devildeac. Some interesting microbrews here. Will report on the Ymm Beer thread tomorrow or Sunday.

    Cheers,
    Lavabe

Thank you so much and as for Jason Evans, it's not for lack of trying on my part. I think moderators aren't supposed to encourage this kind of thing but I still have hope. We did get MulletMan!!!!

Sorry about the snow bb. We managed to avoid it here in Newton.

He was probably happy to see it. It stuck here in Beverly for a couple of hours before melting. It is nearly April. Moving from NC doesn't seem like such a great move.

You know me well. It was a nice opportunity to say goodbye to my ole friend until December (probably).

I am once again kicking Gregg Doyel's hind quarters as I picked Davidson to the Elite 8 in a CBSSports online pool. I'm even ahead of Neil Patrick Harris at the moment.

I honestly don't know. I have never had any warnings or infraction points and keep my posting pretty clean(just don't read my stuff in snrub, however ). One of the mods did delete a post when I replied to some one who suggested some porn site for some reason and I reminded the poster it was a PG-13 type board and the mod actually complimented me on my reply. So, I guess, no, I have not been a bad boy.

Hmm, Ymo just taught me a neat trick (see the "posting just to post" thread) -- this should be my 114th contribution to the LTE!

But I really did have a question --

Hey BD -- when is the Marathon?

Happy to take credit, but YMO discovered it. I just forced him to tell us.
