I should be carving pumpkins right now.

Thank you, YBT and BD for the PW response. I'll have to work on my timing.

Do you stick with the traditional pumpkin carving of triangle eyes/nose and a mouth or do you do the elaborate carving?

Whoo hoo - I did the last two without the 30 second warning. I must be getting better at this.

I do two pumpkins, fairly traditional, usually one grinning and one looking a little scared. Kind of like this :-0

    Smile Boo!

When I usually answer the door, I bring along my male gorilla skull.

Fish could use the raccoon skull.

    Cheers,

Haha! that was funny given the medium we are working in.

I like the traditional styles although we have a family friend that has been carving very elaborate jack-o-lanterns for several decades. She carved a Jayhawk pumpkin one year for my sister, a KU grad.

I'm a traditional pumpkin kinda guy. Though I'm also a fan of the Death Star Pumpkin.

Do you quote Hamlet? For some reason I picture him holding a skull during his soliloquey (sp?). I'm probably wrong on that - I guess I should see/read Hamlet sometime.

    Excellent idea!

A few years back, when we lived in VA, I sat still on the porch in a werewolf costume. The kids would walk up to the porch thinking that it was a "fake", after they were on the porch I'd jump up. They'd usually run off yelling.

This morning I drove by a house with about 30 carved pumpkins lining their stone wall. I think that's about 29 more than necessary.

Maybe the top 10 for this thread. Have you seen the top 10 for total posts?

I'm only shooting for top ten in this thread. The overall is way beyond my reach. I bow before such greatness.

There's an artist in Philly who did Obama and McCain pumpkins. They're pretty impressive...

oops... are you trying to get me put in timeout with EJ?

I'm about ready to go out trick-or-drinking... Maybe I won't need any help getting in trouble when I get back...
