My uncle tried to join the Navy in WW-II, but was rejected due to extremely flat feet. Fast forward a few months, and he was drafted into the Army. He was assigned as a paratrooper. Go figure.

ha, my father was an induction sargeant in the Army and he told me that in the latter stages of the war, they'd take absolutely anyone with a pulse...I guess "standards" change.
