From video I've seen, looks like tight end possibility also, good hands.
We now have our first commitment in our 2021 Duke football recruiting class. Pigskindevil was the first to post the news in the Duke football offseason thread.
"so first kid for 2021 is in. Aaaron Hall a WDE from durham verbals. 6'6'' 220 lbs. .8500 composite"
Welcome to DukeGang Aaron.
He had offers from Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Add three star Andrew Jones to the class. Another in-state commit.
https://247sports.com/college/duke/A...bPnes3OIdfYNxkJones, a 6'4", 255 pound lineman from Reagan High School in Pfafftown, NC, chose the Blue Devils over offers from Appalachian State, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and more. His familiarity with the program and coaching staff put Duke over the top.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
I like this quote from the article I linked above.
"Duke is a prestigious school when it comes to education and that I should focus on the next 40 years instead of the next 4 because my future is bright," he said when asked what Duke's pitch has been. "(Academics are) very important Because i know that football has an end and I will need a Plan B."

Add Andrew Jones (6'4/255 OT from Pfafftown, NC) and Anthony Freeman (5-11/211 OLB from Durham, NC - Northern HS) to the list!
Neither appear to be evaluated yet, but nice to have some local guys on board!
Jones has P5 offers from Wake, VT, Louisville, and Illinois.
Freeman has a somewhat shorter list, with offers from East Carolina and Wake.
Edit: Bah! Scooped by CBB.
Also, for what its worth, it appears Anthony Freeman might go by "Tre".
when is the last time we got two kids from durham? or our first 3 verbals were from nc?
Yep, in the 2009 class. We haven't had a single Durham player since until landing two more for the 2021 class. I'm guessing the last one before that was Kinney Rucker from my alma mater!
Real blast from the past looking at the names in those 2008-2010 recruiting classes!

His offer list is ridiculous. So...……………. you're saying there's a chance.

This was my first thought...that the era of rating recruits coincides kinda on point with Duke's football dredges...and when Duke has been good, it's been with OL, passing schemes and small running backs.
...my other thought was hmmm, wonder how highly recruited Steve Jones was. I was tiny guy, remember him, but had no clue about recruiting, etc, back then.
Kinda funny...right after I posted that little blurb, you two nailed my two initial answers to my own question...
